Atlaz is not a healthcare service

Atlaz is a guidance tool for nutrition and training. It is not a medical or dietetic service, it makes no diagnosis, and it does not replace seeing a healthcare professional. If you have questions about your health, the answer is with your doctor or a registered dietitian, not in this app.

The proposals are not validated by a registered professional

As of today, Atlaz’s nutrition and training templates have not been reviewed by a registered dietitian. They are general guidance built on commonly used references. We are telling you here, and you will see it on your proposal too, because you have a right to know before you follow it.

Where your proposal comes from, and who reviews it

Your proposal is not worked out on the fly: it is chosen from a library of templates written in advance, based on your profile, your questionnaire and your restrictions. If your gym has assigned you a trainer, they review it before it reaches your screen. If you don’t have one, it reaches you directly and the decision to follow it is yours. Either way, if something doesn’t work for you, the app has a button to ask for a different one.

When NOT to follow an Atlaz proposal

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have a diagnosed heart or metabolic condition, or if you have or have had an eating disorder. The initial questionnaire asks about these, and if you answer yes to any, Atlaz will not propose a plan and will refer you to a professional. Don’t try to work around that questionnaire.

Nor if your weight is already below the healthy range

If your body mass index is below the healthy range and your goal is to lose weight, Atlaz will not generate a proposal. It is a limit built into the system, not a recommendation you can adjust.

Supplements: what you take is your call

Atlaz does not sell supplements, is not sponsored by any brand, and does not tell you which one to take or how much. The app offers a list so you can record what you ALREADY take on your own, in the amounts you enter. With that, and nothing else, Atlaz fits what you take into your proposal — taking the place of a food of the same type — so your daily calories and macros still add up. It is not a recommendation to take it, not a dosage guideline, and not an assessment of whether it suits you: it is arithmetic on a figure you entered. Food supplements are regulated as foods, not medicines, they neither treat nor prevent any disease, and they can interact with medication or be inadvisable during pregnancy, breastfeeding and with certain conditions. Before starting any supplement, and especially if you take medication or have a health condition, talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and, if you notice any reaction, stop taking it and seek advice.

Listen to yourself

No guidance is worth more than how you feel. If something makes you unwell, dizzy, exhausted, or uneasy about food or your body, stop and see a professional. Atlaz doesn’t reward extreme effort or restriction: if it ever feels like it’s pushing you there, write to us.

By using Atlaz you confirm you have understood the above.
