Atlaz

Free until February 1

All in one fitness app: nutrition, training, recipes, progress, supermarket scanner and Ramadan

What to eat today, how to train and how it's going, in one app. Mediterranean and Maghrebi cooking, Ramadan if you fast, and a scanner that reads the supermarket label looking for what you can't eat if you eat halal.

No card, no commitment.

Bring a friend

Bring a friend and earn free months

Everyone who joins with your link earns you points. Points turn into months of Atlaz, and your link is in your account from day one.

How you earn them

  • Your friend finishes signing up and starts using it+10
  • And pays their first month+40
  • Or takes the whole year at once+150

What they turn into

  • 100 ptsone month
  • 280 ptsthree months
  • 1000 ptsone year

At most 12 months a year: the most you can earn is exactly one year of the app.

Points arrive when your friend actually signs up or pays. Nothing to game, and nobody competes with anybody here.

Eat

A menu, not a shopping list

Every meal with its foods, its grams and its recipe. Change an ingredient and the recipe changes with it — and if none fits any more, none is shown: better that than telling you about a dish you don't have in front of you.

Five meals a day or three, whichever suits you. Any food swaps for another that gives the same, and the dish is rebuilt with whatever comes up that day. The shopping list writes itself, and the week prints out for the fridge door.

And Ramadan is not intermittent fasting: the plan regroups into suhoor and iftar without moving a single calorie.

Scanner

Standing in the supermarket aisle

Scan the barcode and I'll tell you what's in it: calories and macros per 100 g, the official grade already printed on the pack, and the ingredient list read end to end.

The Atlaz scanner, showing the result for a real product
  • Contains pork or pork derivatives.

  • Contains alcohol among its ingredients.

  • Some ingredients are worth a look.

  • I don't see any doubtful ingredients in its list.

And if you eat halal, it also flags pork, alcohol, gelatine with no stated origin, or additives that may be animal-derived — supplements included, where they hide the most. Works with barcodes from Spain, France and Morocco, and not one product you look at is stored.

It certifies nothing: that is a certifier's job. It reads the label and tells you what it says.

Social network

BASE, your fitness social network

No nutrition app has one inside. Base is Atlaz's base camp: the people doing this alongside you, what they cook, how they're going and who to train with.

You follow whoever keeps you going, share the recipe that worked or the session you've just finished, and tell the day in a story that lasts twenty-four hours. All from the app, with nothing else to install.

  • The recipe that worked
  • Your training day
  • Stories that last a day
  • Nobody competes with anybody here

What you eat and what you weigh stays with you: not one figure from your plan shows up in Base.

The wall

Train

The movement, not a stick figure

Every exercise with its animation, how it's done, the common mistake and where you should feel it. It's the only thing someone training alone has to know whether they're doing it right.

Two to seven days a week, at home or at the gym. Every set you log is kept, and next time it tells you what weight to put on — it only goes up if you completed every set last time, never just because.

Progress

And the plan moves with you

Weight, measurements and load lifted, always as a trend and never as one day's isolated number. When you've been on track for weeks and the needle won't move, Atlaz sees it and proposes a change. A plan that stands still is why these apps get dropped after two months.

Weight, waist, chest, hips, arm and thigh, each with its curve. And the load you lift on each exercise, which in the first months is the proof it's working while the scales haven't caught on yet.

Your data

What you eat stays here

Your gym pays for Atlaz. And still doesn't see what you eat.

Your data

What your gym actually sees

Your gym pays for Atlaz, so it's a fair question: what does it see about you?

  • Your gym cannot see what you eat, what you weigh or what you answered in the health questionnaire. And it isn't a promise: there is no screen where it could — not even in our own admin panel.

  • All it gets is an anonymous average of its members, and not even that when so few are logging that you could tell whose it is.

  • If your gym assigns you a trainer, they do see how you're getting on. That's what they're for, and there is nobody else.

  • And the scanner keeps none of the products you look at. With an account or without one.

Before you decide

Does it really work for eating halal?
Yes, and it's why it exists. When you choose halal it stops being a preference: it's a filter applied always, and before anything else. On top of that, the scanner reads the ingredient list on any package looking for pork, alcohol and additives that may be of animal origin.
What about Ramadan?
There's a switch that regroups the day into suhoor and iftar without changing a single gram or calorie of what you were going to eat. You turn it on and off: Ramadan moves every year, not everyone fasts every day, and some people fast outside it.
Does this replace a dietitian?
No, and we don't want it to look like it does. Atlaz suggests from plans written in advance and reviewed; it doesn't improvise diets or tell you what you must do. When you create your account there's a health questionnaire, and in some cases — pregnancy, certain conditions, a history of an eating disorder — no suggestion is generated at all and we point you to a healthcare professional.
My gym works with Atlaz — does it cost me anything?
No. If your gym has a licence, its members use Atlaz without paying anything for as long as they're members.
How much does it cost?

Start today, eat better tomorrow

It takes a minute: four questions and you have your proposal. It comes from a library of reviewed plans, not from a calculation improvised on the spot.

And until February 1 it costs nothing.
