Frequently asked questions
What people ask us most before starting. If something's missing, write to us and we'll add it here.
The basics
- What is Atlaz?
- A nutrition and training app. It suggests what to eat each day — with the recipe for every dish and the shopping list already made — and a routine that fits the days you train and the equipment you have. It's built for Spain, France and Morocco.
- Do I need to install anything?
- No. Atlaz runs in the browser on your phone, tablet or computer. If you like, you can add it to your home screen and it behaves like any other app.
- What languages is it in?
- Spanish, French and English — and not just the interface: the foods, the recipes and the exercises are translated one by one. Arabic will come later.
- Do I need to go to a gym?
- No. You can use Atlaz on your own and train at home: the routine is built around the equipment you have, even if that's none. And if your gym works with Atlaz, it costs you nothing on top.
Halal, Ramadan and cooking
- Does it really work for eating halal?
- Yes, and it's why it exists. When you choose halal it stops being a preference: it's a filter applied always, and before anything else. On top of that, the scanner reads the ingredient list on any package looking for pork, alcohol and additives that may be of animal origin.
- So does the scanner tell me whether a product is halal?
- No, and the distinction matters. Certifying is a certifier's job, not an app's. What Atlaz does is read the label and tell you what it says: whether pork shows up, whether alcohol does, or whether there's something worth checking. The package in your hand always has the last word.
- What about Ramadan?
- There's a switch that regroups the day into suhoor and iftar without changing a single gram or calorie of what you were going to eat. You turn it on and off: Ramadan moves every year, not everyone fasts every day, and some people fast outside it.
- Is it only for Maghrebi cooking?
- No. You choose between Mediterranean, Maghrebi or international cooking, and the suggestions follow: tagine and couscous, or lentils and baked fish. It's separate from restrictions, so you can ask for Mediterranean cooking and halal at the same time.
Health and data
- Does this replace a dietitian?
- No, and we don't want it to look like it does. Atlaz suggests from plans written in advance and reviewed; it doesn't improvise diets or tell you what you must do. When you create your account there's a health questionnaire, and in some cases — pregnancy, certain conditions, a history of an eating disorder — no suggestion is generated at all and we point you to a healthcare professional.
- Who can see what I eat and what I weigh?
- You. And the trainer your gym assigned you, if you have one: they answer for your plan, and without seeing how it's going they can't help. Nothing travels further up — the owner sees neither what you eat nor your weight. At most they see figures across all their members, and only when there are enough people for nobody to be recognisable inside them.
Price and gyms
- How much does it cost?
After that: €6.90 a month or €59 a year · MAD 39 a month in Morocco

- How long is it free for?
- Until February 1. Until then you don't need a card to use everything.
- My gym works with Atlaz — does it cost me anything?
- No. If your gym has a licence, its members use Atlaz without paying anything for as long as they're members.
- I have a gym or a shop, or I want to bring in clients.
